GAP Trail Closures

GAP bike trail maintenance information

There is culvert construction and a complete closure on the GAP biking/hiking trail between Confluence and Ohiopyle scheduled through the end of April, 2023.
There is no safe, alternative route and no current plans for a hike-a-bike walk around at this time.
You can bike from the house to the trail head (approx. 5 miles round trip) and at this time there is no "closed" sign at the trailhead on the Confluence end, so you may be able to ride further. The work is being done closer to Ohiopyle.
More unfortunate news is there is a closure the other direction (towards Rockwood) as well for the re-decking of bridges. I have not seen a completion date for this work. The closest bridge (Harnedsville) to the houses is about a 6 mile round trip.
You can also drive to nearby Ohiopyle or Rockwood and bike the other direction.
If you are planning on arriving by bike please plan ahead. The link below has links to shuttle services.
If you are arriving by car, perhaps skiing, fishing, paddling, hiking, short bike riding, wine tasting, relaxing, etc... is more on your agenda.
Don't worry, there is still lots to do!
